Chichester won by 1 run

Having won the toss Chichester elected to bat and got off to a steady start through Freya Davies (15). The pace was picked up by Henry MacFarlane (23no) and Charlie Futcher (20no), and Dom Wood (14no) and Bing Stanley (15no) ensured a competitive total of 118 was reached in the 20 overs, including a beautifully hit six over midwicket from Stanley.

In reply Worthing made a confident start against accurate bowling from Olly Clink with openers Harry Dunn (22no) and Martin Swift (23no) both retiring and keeping Worthing in touch with the required run rate. The introduction of Davies (4 for 14) brought the first wicket and Chichester started to peg Worthing back a little, but James Neal (16) kept his head and took Worthing to within 7 runs of their target with 2 overs still to bowl. Harry Johnson kept Worthing down to just 3 from the penultimate over, which left Davies to bowl the last with Worthing needing just 4 to win. With wickets with her second and fifth balls and only one run conceded, Worthing needed 3 to win from the last ball and could only scramble a leg bye to leave Chichester breathless winners by one run.
